Jens Fudge

Jens Fudge is a Danish software developer, consultant, trainer, and Embarcadero MVP with more than 30 years of experience developing applications in Delphi. He has worked with Delphi since its first release in 1995 and has spent much of his professional career designing, developing, and maintaining business applications.

He is an active member of the Delphi community and a regular speaker at developer conferences, including EKON and DAPUG events.

Jens has a particular interest in making complex technologies approachable. Whether teaching, presenting, or writing, his focus is on removing unnecessary complexity and helping developers build a practical understanding one step at a time.

Outside software development, Jens has been involved in competitive archery for most of his life, both as an athlete and a coach. He won a Paralympic gold medal in Barcelona in 1992 and has since worked extensively with archers on both technical and mental performance.

This combination of software development, teaching, and archery is also why archery tends to find its way into almost all of Jens' demos and example applications.

Jens lives in Denmark and works as an independent software consultant, trainer, author, and coach.

Getting Started with XData

Getting Started with XData

Getting started with a new framework should not be complicated.

Getting Started with XData is a practical, step-by-step introduction to building REST APIs with Delphi and TMS XData. Starting with a simple Hello World service, you will gradually build a working API, connect it to a database, implement CRUD operations, and add authentication and  authorisation. You will then build a Delphi VCL client that communicates with the API, giving you experience with both sides of an XData application.

The examples are deliberately kept simple and focused. Each chapter introduces one concept at a time, helping you understand what XData is doing and how you can use it in your own applications.

From your first endpoint to a working client-server application, one step at a time.
